The Margaret River Junior Cricket Club will host an important fundraising event this Saturday as the Hawks host Dunsborough, Cowaramup and Vasse in a huge weekend of cricket at Gloucester Park.
Aimed at raising funds for young players to attend Country Week – with some families sending multiple children to the competition – the car wash will be held directly below the Hawks Cricket Club changerooms.
“At $10 per car, this is a brilliant price to get your car cleaned and support your local junior cricketers,” said Hawk Michael Earl.
“It’s not cheap for these players to represent their clubs, communities and their associations, at $600 per child so we encourage everyone to come and support the future of sport in our community.”
A sausage sizzle, a raffle and a bouncy castle will be set up on the day, with activities from 9am to 4pm on Saturday December 8.
There is also a rumour that Santa may visit the Hawks Nest at around 2.45pm on Saturday.
Locals and businesses keen to help the young players achieve their Country Week goal can contact Michael on 0420 576 029.
