Margaret River residents will have the chance to witness the West Australian Opera’s presentation of Puccini’s La Bohème when it is simulcast to regional areas throughout the State.
La Bohème tells the story of a group of friends and idealists, as they pursue their dreams.
The two main characters, Rodolfo and Mimi, fall in love but their hopeful outlook on life is shattered as they face poverty, illness and loss.
This opera includes many well-known arias, including Rodolfo’s famous ‘Che gelida manina’, Mimi’s’ ‘Michiamano Mimi’ and Musetta’s ‘Quando me’n vo’’.
The City of Perth’s Opera in the Park is presented by Lotterywest, Healthway and the Community Resource Network and aims to enable regional communities to be introduced to the artform at a world-class level.
La Bohème will be performed on Saturday, February 3, at 8pm at Margaret River Cultural Centre.
