A 67 year old Margaret River man has appeared at Bunbury Magistrates Court on Wednesday afternoon following an altercation that saw one man taken to hospital.
Antony Charles Hardy was in court as homicide detectives arrived in Margaret River to investigate a physical altercation in which it is alleged a 75 year old local man received serious injuries.
The man was taken to Margaret River Hospital after Police and St John Ambulance officers were called to a residence on Holbrook Street in Rapids Landing at around 3.45pm on Tuesday January 30.
The man was then flown to Royal Perth Hospital by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Police confirmed on Wednesday that the 75 year old man had died in hospital.
Busselton Detectives charged Hardy with Grievous Bodily Harm and Aggravated Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm.
In court on Wednesday, the police prosecutor said the charge would be upgraded and that a decision on that charge would be made following inquiries.
Hardy was remanded in custody until February 9, 2018.
