School students around the Capes region enjoyed a special visit from West Coast Eagles players last week as part of the team’s South West pre-season tour.
Eagles Oscar Allen, Ryan Burrows and Brad Sheppard visited the Margaret River Independent School on Tuesday to talk about their football journey and the importance of keeping healthy and living an active lifestyle.
The trio also discussed the emergence of female football players and chatted with students about the future of women in Australian Rules Football.
On Wednesday, students from schools around Augusta Margaret River attended an Eagles training clinic where skills and exercises were demonstrated.
Recently re-signed captain Shannon Hurn said it was exciting to visit regional communities.
“It’s great to get down here and see the kids, they don’t always get to come up to Perth to watch us train or play so it’s good to have a chat, share some knowledge and put a smile on the face of the kids and community in general,” Hurn said.
