Margaret River region author Lily Malone celebrated the launch of her latest novel last week with a rousing reception and Q&A session at the Margaret River Bookshop.
Welcomed warmly by supporters and fans, the popular novelist was excited to talk about her newest work. Water Under The Bridge with Stocker Preston Cowaramup’s Jill Turton.
“Jill was the perfect choice to chat about as she's not only my boss and good friend, but given the new book is about a main character who begins life as a real estate agent in the country WA town of Chalk Hill, she's the perfect choice to ask me any curly real estate questions,” said Malone.
“Chalk Hill is the first fictional town I’ve written ... think of the real 'Rocky Gully' and you're not too far off the mark. It features the landscape of Albany and the Stirling Ranges and the Denmark-Walpole tall trees.”
“The main character, Ella, is an ex-almost Olympic swimmer who just missed the team for Beijing. Ten years later she's throwing off a marriage to a lovely – but basically the wrong man - and she's starting again in Chalk Hill.”
Signed copies of Water Under The Bridge are available at the Margaret River Bookshop. Lily Malone will be appearing at Dymocks Busselton on March 22 and will be available for book signing.
