Young people across the Shire of Augusta Margaret River can look forward to trying out the newly completed Margaret River Youth Precinct from Saturday 19 May 2018.
The Precinct will be open for public use from the morning on Saturday, with a local information session and low-key BBQ scheduled for the following day on Sunday at 12.30pm.
An official opening event will take place two weeks later, on Sunday 3 June, boasting an impressive line up of skate, music and food, giving the chance for the whole community to celebrate.
An exclusive international guest will also be announced soon.
Shire Manager Human and Community Services, Nigel Anderson expressed his thanks to the local community for their support during the construction period.
“Knowing how much this space means to our young people and the wider community, I would like to convey my appreciation to everyone for being so patient - I know you will not be disappointed,” he said.
“This project has been heavily influenced by the community who have sought to make this an inclusive space all people can come to and enjoy.”
“As this project means so much to so many people, we want to host an informal local information session and try out the new barbecues.
“The big official opening at the beginning of June will be something you don’t want to miss.”
