Members of the Third University Margaret River (U3A) enjoyed a guided-walk on the Nyindamurra Nature Trail last week.
The tour was led by Year 4 students at the Margaret River Independent School and forms part of a new MRIS program, the Nyindamurra Nature Trail Tours.
Principal Wendy Roediger said the tours evolved as a way of sharing the students’ traditional bush knowledge with the wider community.
“Our students have a wealth of knowledge from their Wadandi mentorship with Josh Whiteland,” Ms Roediger said.
“We are keen to share this with our community.”
The U3A group was impressed by the students understanding of the bush and Noongar seasons and praised the beautiful bush surrounds at the school.
