Western Australia’s abandoned, mistreated and neglected cats and dogs received a boost to their future health thanks to the generosity of two Margaret River businesses this week.
It’s good to know the light is going somewhere it is definitely needed.

A veterinary surgery light donated by the Margaret River Vet Hospital headed north to the Animal Protection Society of WA Inc Southern River headquarters, freighted free of charge by Margaret River Transport.
Transport Logistics Admin Officer Debbie Neat said the company decided to join in the generosity shown by vet hospital owners Wayne and Michel Doney when approached by the society to quote on shipping the large light to the metro area.
“We were very pleased to be able to add to the gesture and the impressive donation by waiving around $100 of shipping costs,” Mrs Neat said.
The surgery decided to donate the light – which can cost thousands of dollars to purchase new – when one of their nurses spotted a callout from the society on social media.
“We were about to upgrade here in Margaret River and decided that we could help out the society by sending this one up to Perth,” explained Wayne Doney.
