Cinema fans missing the weekly movie screenings at the Margaret River Cultural Centre need not despair, as Arts Margaret River has two movie screenings planned this June.
The films will be screened at Stay Margaret River in the comfort of their conference room on a big screen.
Thursday evening screenings include a glass of wine or beer with an optional dinner/movie ticket available. Sunday matinees include afternoon tea after the screenings.
Lost in Paris is a wondrously fun and hectic tale of peculiar people finding love while lost in the City of Lights, and stars Dominique Abel, Fiona Gordon, Academy Award nominee Emmanuelle Riva, and Pierre Richard.
From Goya award-winning director Icíar Bollaín (Even the Rain) and BAFTA-winning writer Paul Laverty comes The Olive Tree.
It is an award winning, earthy, quietly stirring Spanish fable about a family and its thousand-year-old olive tree.
Arts Margaret River Marketing Manager, Steph Kreutzer, said that tickets were selling well to the films and hoped that they will be well received.
“Without our venue and digital equipment it is very difficult for us to screen new release movies,” Ms Kreutzer said.
“We have had to find suitable alternative venues for all of our events and are lucky to have so many local businesses offer their support.
“Whilst many people have been requesting kids’ movies for the school holidays, unfortunately we have been unable to source affordable movies in the right format to date “ she said.
Tickets to Lost in Paris and The Olive Tree can be purchased online at artsmargaretriver.com or by calling Arts Margaret River on 0478 215 214 or by visiting the Arts Margaret River Office at the Community Centre on Tunbridge Street (Monday to Friday 10am-4pm).
