There is no need to go to the NRL Bunker for this one – In the Clear NRL Podcast co-host Chris Boulous thinks technology needs to be removed from rugby league.
In the wake of the calamitous Sharks and Raiders clash last Friday night, Boulous has called on stripping back technology in the game.
“Has the game really improved with the increased technology? I think players and fans would be happy for a bad call every now and then if it meant the flow of the game improved,” he said.
“The current system is not working. Technology and rugby league don’t mix”
St George & Sutherland Shire Leader sports editor Andrew Parkinson witnessed the infamous flag raising incident live and called for the introduction of a captain’s challenge.
“I think it would solve a lot of problems. Rugby league is not black and white so I am not sure why they are trying to referee it like that,” he said.
Also on this week’s show, Group Digital Journalist Mitch Vleeskens dropped by to preview all the games for round 20 with the Sharks, Panthers, Warriors and Storm the most fancied to notch wins.
