U9s Bulls Red v Falcons – Coach Pete Mammone was happy with the effort of the Bulls Red U9s against Margaret River Falcons on Saturday.
The kids didn’t get the best of the scoreboard, but played an awesome team game. Coaches awards went to Jase Reynolds, Oscar Buck and Griff Mammone.
U9s Bulls Gold v Tigers – Bulls Gold played Margaret River Tigers and played a strong game all day showing awesome endeavour, skills and teamwork.
After a bye last week and the school holidays prior to that, it was the first time the kids had played for a while, but you'd have been forgiven for thinking they'd spent the entire holidays kicking a football.
Coaches Adam Semenow and Nic Payne said the kids played great as a team, and had listened well to the coaches, putting instructions into play.
Coaches awards went to Rocco Holt, Mitch Kirby and Harper Payne.
U11s Bulls Red v Falcons – A great team effort by the Bulls Red U11s playing away against Falcons on Saturday. Lachlan Kirkham, Jyah Dodd and Anaru Teddy were among the best players.
U11s Bulls Gold v Tigers – After a strong first quarter, the Gold boys struggled to keep momentum going for the rest of the game against a very good team (credit to Tigers!)
At quarter time things were fairly level with both teams getting some good clear passages of ball. Bulls Gold applied excellent pressure, but coach Mark Jolliffe encouraged the kids to be first to the ball and attack a bit more, rather than standing back to let the opponent get it, and then make the tackle.
Tom Golding did this with one great interception running off the backlines, and James Meldrum too was getting loads of ball and continually trying to drive Bulls into attack.
Things got away a bit in the second half, though the kids didn't stop trying, with a couple of players for Tigers being standouts - Ollie and Tashi.
At the end of the game, the coach encouraged them to believe in themselves, have confidence in their skills and to back themselves to get the ball.
Coaches awards went to Mitch Binning, Avion Packer and James Meldrum.
U13s Bulls Gold v Tigers – What a cracker of a game this was with these two teams fast establishing a great rivalry within the AMR Association.
It was Bulls who burst out of the blocks to pile on the goals in the first quarter. Kaison Williams roving in this first quarter was really something to see, kicking at least two goals.
With another of the fast smaller players, Finn Barrett-Lennard, these two were pivotal in most of Bulls forwards moves.
In the second quarter the game evened out. Ella Roberts started getting her skilled hands on the ball, and after half time, Tigers threw everything at the Bulls.
In the end, the Bulls held on for a narrow win, and continue their leap up the ladder.
