A former Margaret River chef is heading to one of WA’s most iconic food festivals to join a team of culinary experts in creating a feast for around 360 people
Taylor St Quarters head chef Dean Wood will cook for the Long Table Lunch at the Gascoyne Food Festival with seven other chefs on Friday, August 10.
Mr Wood said he was looking forward to the opportunity to join other top WA chefs and showcase local produce.
“I got asked to do it when I was up at Truffle Kerfuffle,” he said.
“It’s a celebration of the produce in the region.”
Mr Wood said cooking with local produce was a massive part of his work.
“My specialty is probably share food but it ranges, we do a lot of things,” he said.
Mr Wood said he missed his time in Margaret River.
“I worked at Morries on the main strip with Tony Howell,” he said.
“I was just surrounded by amazing suppliers and amazing food.”
