The Margaret River Netball Association is calling on supporters, friends and locals to join their Chicken Treat Fundraiser, happening all day this Saturday August 18.
Every whole chicken sold during opening hours on Saturday will net the club a generous $5 donation, with funds going towards vital transport, uniforms and operational costs for their more than 200 players.
“With chickens at the normal price of $9.95 we’re offering a quick and easy lunch, a family dinner solution or the chance to pick up a few for lunches during the week, at the same time helping out one of our great local sporting groups,” said Glen Clayton, owner operator of Margaret River Chicken Treat.
“We’re very much behind our local sporting clubs and teams and this is another way we can help out by passing on the proceeds to the netball association.”
Association spokesperson Lynda Murray said the fundraiser would raise money to keep the club operating as it grows with more members signing up each year.
“We have a great group of players and association members who work really hard each week to oversee games, training and transport to and from various events, as well as all the behind the scenes work that goes on with running a large sporting group like this one.
“We are very grateful to Glen and the Chicken Treat team for helping us out and we’re asking everyone in the area who wants to show their support for the players to drop in and pick up a chicken or two!”
The fundraiser will run from 9am to 9pm on Saturday August 18 at Margaret River Chicken Treat.
