The second annual charity match between the AMRzons ladies football team and the AMR Hawks Masters once again managed to raise a significant amount of money for local cancer support charity, River Angels.
The teams met under lights at Gloucester Park in Margaret River last week, where supporters gathered to cheer on the two sides.
River Angels’ Lynda Donovan said she was thrilled with the generosity of the players and game organisers for their time and effort, as well as the support from the local community.
“Over 50 businesses donated around $7000 worth of prizes, which just highlights the generosity of the amazing community we live in,” she said.
“Local businesses and various community groups all coming together to support each other, it is another reminder to please shop locally and support these hometown businesses.
“And thank you to the AMRzons, this year they have managed to raise a staggering $7755 for River Angels.”
“We would like to thank our game day sponsors the Margaret River Lions Club, Doust Enterprises and Xburt Cleaning.
“Thank you also to Liz Dawson and Jesse Pateman for outstanding fundraising skills, Megan Chadwick and Raylene Field for selling tickets, the amazing Kim Robins, ticket seller extraordinaire, and Vanessa Turner, game organizer and coordinator.”
