Take The Office, and mash it up with a cage fight.
You heard correctly – that’s the premise behind the latest live performance to head to Margaret River, presented by Arts Margaret River.
Cockfight is a comical physical performance focused around two men working in an office, one an older man and the other younger.
The performance is woven around the lives of the two men from different generations, trapped side by side in the office, sharing space, resources, time and responsibilities.
Their conflict is under the skin and mixed with a fierce codependency – these two men need each other to survive, with the walls closing in and their shared experiences with male rivalry.
Cockfight explores the power play between men, the frailty of the ageing body and questions our culture’s struggle for achievement.
Presented at the Margaret River Recreation Centre Exercise Room, Cockfight will be held on Saturday September 15 starting at 8pm. Reserved raked seating and flat seating will be available.
All tickets (Adults $30, $25 ArtsHub members, $20 Youth, $80 Family) available through Arts Margaret River – www.artsmargaretriver.com.au or call 9758 7316 or visit the ArtsMR office at the Margaret River Community Centre on Tunbridge Street from 10-4pm Monday to Friday.
