The Margaret River Tennis Club is gearing up for a bumper season of tennis and while the rain continues to fall over the region, there is plenty of action happening on and off the courts in September and October to make the most of the approaching sunshine.
Club President Drew Szandtner encouraged tennis fans to head to the Gold AMT tennis tournament being held at the club from September 22 to 25.
“We would love to have more locals coming out to appreciate the game, we hold some great tournaments at the club each year and this upcoming event will be a good opportunity for people to come and watch some quality tennis,” he said.
With members ranging from as young as 6 years through to a group of keen adult members connecting both on a sporting and social level, Mr Szandtner said the club offered a family-friendly and healthy approach to community sport.
The upcoming AMR Gold tournament will be a good opportunity for people to come and watch some quality tennis.

“We are planning to start a new social tennis program, which will be a Sunday Session, and we are also very keen to welcome new junior players to our coaching program. Pablo started coaching last year and has really developed the junior program, and we’d love to see a Margaret River tennis squad to go out and compete at various events.”
The MRTC was awarded the Most Outstanding Club at the 2017 WA Tennis Industry Awards, and boasts a refurbished clubhouse and veranda overlooking the 12 tennis courts.
The junior coaching season begins at the Margaret River Tennis Club next School Holidays with a Tennis Holiday Clinic being held over the two week break from 9am to 12 noon for players aged 7 to 14 years old.
In Term 4, the club will run After School Tennis lessons for players aged 3 to 16, offering different skill levels as well as adult coaching at all levels.
