The developers behind the Margaret River Lifestyle Village (MRLV) south of town say attention to detail and harnessing the nature of the South West lifestyle are keys to their success, following their recent award at the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Awards.
Collecting the ‘Excellence in Seniors Living’ accolade, director Bradley Moore said he hoped the award would act as proof of the company’s high standards.
“Winning this prestigious award is important for the Margaret River Lifestyle Village, our residents and our development team,” Mr Moore said.
“First up, we have been recognised by our respected industry peers for our Innovative, high quality development and best practices.
“Probably the most important factor is that it gives social proof for those people who have had faith in us from the beginning.
“For anyone considering making the decision to move to MRLV we hope that this gives you some comfort to know that your decision is backed by judges who have chosen our development as an industry leading development.”
UDIA judge Cameron Shepherd said the development was recognised for its innovative approach to Over 55s living.
“All of the detail that you’ve put into the development is amazing,” Mr Shepherd said, noting the addition of the clubhouse as an important step to building the residents’ community.
Village Project Director Adan Nicholson said the group was creating a “micro-climate of all that the region has to offer”.
“We have really tried to capture the Margaret River region’s famous lifestyle in our village,” he said.
“We set up our Clubhouse in stage one of the development, something which is traditionally done further down the track, so we could establish a truly unique community in one of WA’s most incredible locations.”
Mr Nicholson said plans for the village would echo the nature-focused, sustainable activities residents in the Margaret River area already love.
“Residents will be able to enjoy experiences such as growing their own grapes on site, brewing their own craft beer in our very own microbrewery, growing their own veggies and fruit from an already established orchard, or relaxing in front of the hand crafted stone fireplace in our large Clubhouse,” he said.
“Having an energy efficient village has been paramount in our development. Each home has a water tank, and solar panels, and we have several boutique home designs that can be personalised for each resident.”
