Cowaramup Bowling Club celebrated their Opening Day last Sunday with 28 players participating in the Bob Perenzin Memorial Scroungers, one of the Club's most popular days.

Captain Keith Simmonds organized the programme which opened with the "Spider." Players placed themselves around the green, with a large plastic Spider target in the middle.

On the count of three all players drove one bowl at the 'Spider’ at once.

The winner was Dot Burns who won a bottle of Gralyn Port.

Peter Tassel was the overall winner on the day.

Sponsors Ethel Perenzin and daughter Lydia presented prizes before a delicious afternoon tea was enjoyed by all participants.

An Open Ladies' Day has been planned for Friday October 12 and Mens' Pennants commence Saturday October 13.
