Local Volunteer Firefighters and representatives from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services and the Shire of Augusta Margaret River will be in Augusta this weekend to conduct the Augusta Bushfire Ready Street Meet.
The meeting is designed to help residents with assessing their level of bushfire risk with a local scenario discussion, practical tips for property owners, emergency routes and safer places to shelter during fires, as well as how to stay informed and up to date in the event of a fire.
The meeting will also feature Fire Chat & Bushfire Planning Toolkit advice and assistance, information on property access and firefighting equipment, and maintaining emergency kits and protective clothing.
“It’s a great way to get to know your neighbours, ask questions and join a local Bushfire Ready group,” said DFES Community Preparedness Advisor Steph de Bruin.
The Augusta Bushfire Ready Street Meet will be held at the Augusta Hospital, Blackwood Avenue Side on Sunday November 11 from 2pm – 3.30pm.
