Five woven ephemeral Orbs have been passed to several community organisations to acknowledge the invaluable work and support the organisations have given to the Margaret River community over the past year.
The project’s Cynamon Aeria said the orbs formed part of a community artwork called The Blessing Orbs, and were created by local participants who attended Creative Mindfulness workshops in September.
Throughout the workshops, participants were guided to practice mindfulness as they created their artworks, using various locally sourced materials along the way.
“The orbs are woven with locally found natural materials, with paper written wishes and blessings, and sculptured hanging ornaments made of seed laden clay,” Ms Aeria said.
“The Blessing Orbs were also made for the Margaret River community to honour recent times of loss, hardship and community connection.
“They are to be enjoyed, and aim to bring calm and peacefulness when viewed in a contemplative way.
“They also function to act as a focal point for people to become aware of groups in the community that give support to those in need.

The completed orbs, and accompanying information leaflets, can be found at the Margaret River Library, the Margaret River Community Centre, the Margaret River Organic Gardens, the Margaret River Anglican Church and at the Margaret River Uniting Church.
