The Margaret River Lions Club are once again offering cash to support the efforts of other organisations within the community.

The unique program shares some of the funds raised from the Lions Shed garage sales with these groups as a means of giving back to the community.

Community Grant Coordinator Nigel Vangucci said that the Club is offering $1,000 grants to each group who are able to provide some volunteer labour to assist with a Garage Sale.

“Groups can apply for these grants by contacting me to secure a sale weekend”, said Mr Vangucci.

“The program means a lot to some of those groups who might otherwise struggle with funding and it serves two of our main aims as a Lions Club – to strengthen our communities and help those in need.”

Last year’s Community Grants distributed over $20,000 to a diverse range of organisations including Emergency Services, junior sporting clubs, schools, other community services and arts groups.
