Brisbane alternative-rock group Dead Letter Circus are gearing up for an exciting national tour, in celebration of their new, self-titled album.
After performing at the Prince of Wales Hotel on Thursday, November 29, the group will hit Settlers Tavern, Margaret River on the 30th.
Dead Letter Circus frontman Kim Benzie is excited to be sharing the new album with fans across Australia.
“It’s a pretty amazing life you get to lead, touring and performing music,” he said.
“When people connect with the music, it makes for a pretty powerful experience.”
The band will tour New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, and the Australian Capital Territory in December.
The group held a run of club shows back in June and released its album track, Running Out of Time, in August.
The single, described as an “atmospheric call to arms”, was the third track released from the new album, following The Armour You Own and The Real You.
Next year will be a big one for Dead Letter Circus, having planned whirlwind tours of Europe and America.
Working to further refine the band’s “heavy, melodic” sound, Benzie is proud of what they do.
“I’m glad we’ve stayed true to our sound and haven’t made some of the compromises we could’ve made along the way,” he said.
“I like that we’ve stayed very ‘niche rock’.
“Music is really important in people’s lives. When you get it right, and learn how to tap into that place where music comes from, it’s great.
“Not many things in life fill you up like music does.”
