Cachet Homes officially opened its doors on July 1, 2008.
It was the amalgamation of two local companies, Mandurah Building by Design, a design and drafting business owned by Cliff Kearns, and Lilcon Pty Ltd, a small residential construction company owned by Chris Lillis.
Both Chris and Cliff are leaders within the WA building industry and it was their identification of an unfilled niche in the Peel and surrounds for those who wished to build an individual, uniquely-designed home, showcasing quality construction and craftsmanship that led to the creation of Cachet Homes.
Indeed, they wanted to provide a new and unique service for the Peel area, one that would use more local businesses and tradespeople and provide more opportunities for regional growth and give greater control over the quality and price of their product.
Today, directors Chris and Cliff have a team of 16 that includes a construction manager, sales manager, site supervisors, schedulers, estimators, drafting personnel, interior designer, client liaison and apprentices.
Cachet Homes offers a design and construction service, custom home builds of all sizes and construction methods, renovations and commercial developments.
Chris and Cliff said as directors they are active in the business and that is one of the things that sets them apart.
Clients have direct contact with their designated supervisor, there is a full-time, pre-start consultant, interior designer and client liaison, a pre-start showroom and display centre, they said.
“Cachet Homes has a 100 per cent Mandurah and Peel focus, as we are the largest custom home builder in the region and continuously reinvest back into the region,” Chris and Cliff said.
“Cachet has more efficient build times for every type and size of custom-built home, due to our Mandurah location, management and local knowledge.”
The team at Cachet Homes are abreast of the latest trends in the construction industry that may inspire their clients.
“There’s the timeless Hamptons style and, more recently, the modern eclectic style which encompasses a variety of periods and styles and is brought together through the use of color, texture, shape and finish,” Chris and Cliff said.
“Good design knowledge results in an economical build and the best use of each individual block of land.
“Cliff Kearns personally designs or is involved in the design process for each and every Cachet home and customises every house design to the brief, location and dreams of each client, integrating a variety of new technologies and construction options to the home design.”
The team at Cachet Homes loves working with the community of Mandurah and surrounds.
“Our local presence means local owners, local staff, local trades and material suppliers,” Chris and Cliff said.
“We understand the Mandurah estuarine lifestyle better than anyone because we live it every day.
“We are involved in local sporting clubs with clients past and present as well as our suppliers and tradespeople. It makes work and leisure integrate and builds positive loyal relationships.”
Cachet Homes sponsors Mandurah Magic SBL, Dudley Park Bowling Club, Mandurah Cricket Club, Make-A-Wish, Rockingham Rams Colts, Jack Motorsport and other local charities and clubs.
Their team also comes together for events such as The HBF Run for a Reason, Perth’s City to Surf and Melanoma WA’s Mission for Melanoma, along with events held by Mandurah’s local Triathlon Club.
