Cabin Fever Festival will be back again this winter, with more than 40 events to be held throughout the Margaret River and Busselton Region from July 19-28.
Cabin Fever, now in its third year is a 10-day winter adventure, laden with unique events for lovers of decadent food, fine local wines and live music – from mystery dinners to cheese and wine pairing battles – every experience is an indulgence for the senses.
Tourists and locals descend on the vineyards, wine bars and other wondrous spots the beautiful Margaret River region is famous for, to create their own winter escapade.
Festival organisers Brianna Delaporte and Erin Molloy said they hoped the program enticed everyone out of the house and into the action.
‘Through the program, we want to highlight the best things about winter down south; beautiful big red wines, local sustainably sourced produce, hearty comfort food, beautiful landscapes, bonfires, dark brews and great live music.’
‘There’s so much to love about winter down here and we want to celebrate that, rather than hiding inside to escape it; because that’s when the Cabin Fever really sets in.’
The organisers said this year’s guests can expect more events, more epic locations, some exciting collaborations, a little bit of secrecy and a whole lot of country hospitality.
The festival will also be offering plenty of opportunities to expand attendees’ knowledge of iconic wines from the famous wine region.
Events on this year’s line-up range from decadent dinners such as Night of Noir at the Howard Park Wine Chapel and Farm, Fire Food by Chef George Cooper, to events focusing on foodie favourites like Sunday Yum Cha at Black Brewing Co and a Cheese Toastie Battle at The Common. Exciting chef collaborations with some of WA’s favourite chefs at Yarri, Vasse Felix and Arimia are soon to be announced.
Popular events from previous years will return again in 2019, such as Fondue by the Fire at Howard Park Wines, Blazing Brews at the Beer Farm, Backyard Brewing Tournament at Brewhouse, The River Lock-In and the Settlers Tavern Carpark Collective, which sees the pub’s carpark morph into an outdoor live music venue.
