The talented members of the Margaret River Men's Shed are at it again, delivering a colourful and practical addition to the Rapids Landing Primary School playscape.
The music wall, featuring various percussive and melodic elements and including mallets and tools to play the instruments, was the brainchild of school P&C members, Amy Goodman and Beth Carlessi.
Associate Principal Hayley Kirkup said the Men's Shed were eager to join the project. "The Men's Shed designed the amazing plan and the musical instruments were even tuned by a musician," Ms Kirkup said.
"Projects like this allow us to expand our school facilities for students in the early stages of our school development."
Speaking at the school last week, Men's Shed member Noel Bodley said the project represented the types of help offered by the group.
"The Men's Shed is about providing an important place for local men to connect, participate and socialise as well as contributing to the wellbeing of our local community," he said.
"We are also hard at work to establish ourselves at a permanent location and welcome contact from people in our community who have suggestions for fundraising or other projects on which we can assist."
The Men's Shed operates from the eastern end of the Old Settlement in Margaret River and is open for members and enquiries from 9am - 12pm Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. To find out more visit www.margaretrivermensshed.com.au or call 0412 532 717.
