An online auction in aid of River Angels saw locals join forces to bid for a 'monster mango' from Morels in Carnarvon.
Donated by Francois & Cate Payet, the 2kg+ Kensington Pride mango attracted a number of bids before Steve Jones and Ian Parmenter submitted a winning bid of $150.
"We thought it was much more sensible to combine our bids rather than bid against each other, the whole point of it is to raise as much money as possible so the two of us put in together to nab it," explained Mr Jones.
"I had this cunning plan, that we could add value to it by getting a local venue on board to host a fundraising lunch to raise even more funds for River Angels," said Mr Parmenter.
"It's going to take a couple of weeks to properly ripen so that gives us time to plan something."
Mr Jones said he certainly intended to double down on his donation by purchasing tickets to the lunch.
"I'm hoping we can get a bit of an auction going as well, with a few items people can bid on from local businesses."
Details will be released soon about the fundraising lunch.
