Fishermen across WA are being lured to the coast for WA's annual salmon run, giving a boost to tourism in every town from Esperance to Perth.
A Recfishwest spokesperson said fishing salmon was a great sport because they were so accessible and could be caught from some of WA's most beautiful beaches as the fish made their annual migration North.
More than 34,000 fishers now follow the Salmon School Tracker 2019 Facebook Page which shows this fish is a highly sought after species.
''Every year tens of thousands of Western Australian families eagerly await the annual run of these amazing sport fish," the spokesperson said
''Recfishwest believes the pristine white sandy beaches of WA coast combined with the splendid sports fishing qualities of this species truly makes this the world's best fishing on the world's best beaches.
''Each season, the lure of catching a salmon attracts new participants to the sport, with an expectation to experience an exhilarating catch; especially in the last few seasons where high abundance of salmon have provided great fishing.
''Recfishwest provide free beach fishing for salmon maps in various tackle stores along the southern parts of the state, pick up one before you head out fishing.''
