The Margaret River RSL and Augusta Karridale RSL sub-branches are inviting community members and visitors to attend the annual Anzac Day services on Thursday April 25.
Margaret River
Dawn Service | 6.00am
Attendees are requested to assemble at the war memorial located in Memorial Park adjacent to Willmott Avenue, Margaret River by 5.55am.
President Mr Keith Simmonds will present a short address followed by the laying of wreaths, the Ode to the Fallen and a prayer.
Following the service, RSL members and members of the public are invited to the Margaret River District Club, on Tunbridge Street, for the traditional Gunfire Breakfast.
Morning Service 11.15am
The parade will begin with the assembly at 11.15am at Reuther Park; the parade will step off at 11.30am.
In the event of inclement weather alternative arrangements will be announced at 10.30am. Notices will be posted outside the Margaret River Hotel. (The parade will be cancelled and a short service will be held at the Margaret River District Club commencing at 11.45am).
For those laying wreaths; local government, schools and local businesses etc. can order their wreaths from River Blossoms Florist.
Wreaths will be delivered to Memorial Park prior to the service.
Following the service, RSL members, their guests and participants are invited to the Margaret River District Club for fellowship, with two up to commence from 2pm.
Augusta
Dawn Service | 6.20am
The Augusta Karridale RSL sub branch will host their moving annual dawn service at the Augusta War Memorial on the corner of York St and Osnaburg Street in Augusta from 6.20am.
Parking is along Osnaburg Street.
Please leave room adjacent to the park for the parade.
Wheelchair friendly event.
The traditional Augusta gunfire breakfast will once again be hosted from 6.45am following the service.
Morning Service | 11.00am
A morning Anzac Day service will commence at the Augusta War Memorial from 11am, and will be followed by two up at the Augusta Hotel from 1.00pm.
