When Robert Astromsky moved to Margaret River from California in 2002 he thought the area seemed to be a great place for riding bikes.
So he bought a bike shop business as a going concern and never looked back.
Life Cycle Bikes offer sales, hire and ongoing service of top brand bicycles and accessories, that the dedicated team of staff all use.
"We provide great after sales service, which modern bicycles require," he said.
"We are finding people are steering away from the internet in favour of bike shops that can provide personal service and after sales back-up."
"Modern bikes, particularly electric assist bikes, are not like mobile phones or digital cameras."
"They require trained, experienced technicians, to perform as designed and built."
"Minor adjustments to gears, brakes and bearings can have a dramatic impact on the performance and service life of the bikes and various components."
"Many components also require specialised tools which we have."
If there is something specific you want, and Life Cycle Bikes don't have it on the floor, chances are they can order it in and provide the after-sales support.

"We use the prices our suppliers recommend on their websites and we'll match our competitors on normally stocked items," Robert said.
"We offer trades on kids bikes we've sold."
The staff are all passionate about bikes and have been community-minded since the beginning.
"We are active members of local organisations and clubs including MRORCA (Margaret River Off-Road Cycle Association), Margaret River Theatre Group, Margaret River Roller Derby, AMRTA and MRCCI," Robert said.
"We take on work experience students from Margaret River Senior High."
"We support numerous local clubs and groups, giving back to our community."
"We also host women-only technical training nights."
The staff at Life Cycle Bikes have been riding and competing in the South West for 17 years, so they know what products work in the local environment.
"We enjoy getting new riders onto bikes and seeing them develop skills over time," Robert said.
"We have had several customers who got their first bike from us come in and buy their children's first bike from us."
