Therapy Focus has been providing professional therapy services to Western Australian people living with disabilities for more than 20 years.
Services were expanded to the South West in 2016 with a therapy clinic established in Margaret River in early 2018.
South West team leader, Danelle Milward was the driving force behind establishing a presence in the South West.
Last year her colleagues recognised her efforts by nominating her for a leadership award saying; "Danelle leads by example. She reminds us to champion inclusion and participation in the community we work in - not only for our clients but as part of our presence as a service provider. We all agree that she is exceptional in her role as our team leader. She utilises our strengths, supports us to address our weaknesses, and drives us to provide a service that builds capacity for our clients and their families."
The team of 21 local staff is made up of fully qualified and experienced speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists and dietitians.
These therapists work as part of transdisciplinary teams to help people with disabilities achieve their goals.

"We offer comprehensive therapy for children and adults with disability across their lifespan, providing early childhood intervention, school-age and adult services," Danelle said.
"Our qualified therapists work collaboratively to help people address challenges, build on strengths and achieve their goals in the following areas: Behaviour support, toileting and continence management, communication, mealtime support, community inclusion and participation, self-care and daily living, sleep and 24-hour positioning, assistive technology, home modifications, post-school support and transition to work, emotional and self-regulation."
"Our services are available throughout Busselton, Margaret River, Dunsborough, Augusta, Manjimup, Nannup, Bridgetown and surrounds. Access to therapy can greatly improve quality of life for people with disabilities. Therapy Focus delivers services when and where they're needed. Our teams work with individuals and families in homes, schools, workplaces and the broader community."
Danelle is proud the South West team has built strong relationships with local schools, community organisations, assistive technology suppliers and other health professionals.
"These relationships help ensure positive outcomes for our clients, their families, carers - and the community as a whole," she said.
