Local artist Ange Brewster will take her popular children's art workshops to the picturesque Aravina Estate in Yallingup this school holidays.
Participants in the Soft Pastel Art Workshops will enjoy a fun art lesson, creating an animal drawing on a board while practicing drawing techniques.
"This is a really great opportunity to practice your drawing in a beautiful setting, we have lots of colours to choose from and all materials are supplied," Brewster said. "While the kids are taking part in the workshop, parents can enjoy lunch at the estate and even score a discount on some wine!"
Known for her colourful depictions of a variety of animals, Brewster said the sights and sounds of her own backyard continued to inspire her work.
"Margaret River and the surrounding area definitely inspires me," she said.
"The magical wildlife and lush nature inspires me too as well as the wildlife from my time spent in Africa," she said.
After studying art at university in Melbourne and younger years spent on a continental adventure that took in Europe, India and Africa among other far flung destinations, Brewster and her family made a move to Western Australia, and later decided to call the South West home.
"I enjoy painting wild life animals which can be great for kids and often have a story behind them," she said.
Soft Pastel Art Workshops will be held at Aravina Estate on Monday July 8 and Tuesday July 9, from 11.00am to 1.30pm. Children aged 6 and up are invited to attend.
Tickets ($74.95) are available at www.facebook.com/Art-by-Angela-Marie or via Eventbrite.
