The difficult weather conditions proved no obstacle for the Margaret River Hockey Club's 9/12 boys team, which managed to secure its first win of the season at the weekend.
The talented young hockey players are said to have left on a high after gaining a five-goal victory over the Cavaliers on Sunday, September 1.
Players Henry Gorta and Fynn Boylan both performed well, with each scoring a goal for the side.
The standout performer for the side was Conor Callow, who secured a whopping three goals during the game at the weekend.
While Griffin Kean and Angus Currell also worked tirelessly to support the team, as usual, Margaret River Hockey Club junior coordinator Rebecca Gorta said the win was the result of a fantastic team effort and commended players for their sportsmanship.
"The final result is a real confidence booster for the boys leading into the finals," she said.
"The team always shows great teamwork and sportsmanship and have had some really close games this season."
With the Margaret River hockey team members having committed to an 85 kilometre round trip twice a week for training and games in Busselton, Ms Gorta praised them for their dedication to the sport.
