The town of Augusta is embracing the Pink Up message with the Pink Up Augusta program coming up for the month of October.
A pink whale has been created by the Augusta Art Club with help from the Augusta Men's Shed and Augusta Timber & Hardware, to promote the series of events which will raise funds for the McGrath Foundation.
Event organisers said they were keen to hear from locals and businesses with ideas on how to further the campaign.
"As the local Pink Up Your Town Committee, we're calling on you; our neighbours, sports clubs, schools and local businesses to get behind our efforts and help us create a visual show of support for people in our own local area experiencing breast cancer.

"By pinking up and helping us raise funds for the McGrath Foundation, you'll help ensure families across Australia have the specialised care and support of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse."
Ann Lyon, Carolyn Balding, Justine Balding, Pamela Marsh, Gailene Shore, Chrissie Mason-Walshaw and Jenny Bialosowski spent time last week creating decorations ready to turn Augusta's streets pink in a few weeks time, while the Lions Club of Leeuwin contributed $1000 to the campaign.

"This money will be used to provide all our fabulous volunteers and fundraisers with a fun social bowls night and dinner at the Augusta Bowls Club, with leftover proceeds going back to the McGrath Foundation."
The Augusta Hotel will host the Pink Up Pub Night on October 4, with live music from Waiting for Ella and a huge raffle packed with donations from local businesses and groups.
Pubgoers are encouraged to dress in their finest pink outfits for the chance to win prizes on the night. A cake stall, pink scones days at the Lighthouse Cafe, ladies golf events and special movie screenings are also planned.
