The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is inviting the wider community to celebrate the lives of local seniors at a number of free events during WA Seniors Week 2019, which runs Sunday 10 November to Sunday 17 November.
Events include two film screenings of award winning documentary Faces Places, a joyful celebration of the urge to create art and celebrate life.
These will be screened at the new Margaret River HEART and the Augusta Community Resource Centre, are free of charge, and will include light refreshments.
Community Development Officer Katie Taylor said this film has won multiple international awards including 2018 Oscar nominee and Winner Best Documentary at Cannes Film Festival.
"It is a beautifully moving film about an unlikely duo who set out on a road trip throughout rural France in a specially equipped van-photography lab taking photos of the people they meet and plastering the huge black-and-white print-outs in prominent local spots," she said.
"This heart-warming and engaging film is a perfect addition to our annual events celebrating the contribution of seniors in our community."
The Margaret River Faces Places screening will start at 6pm on Wednesday 13 November in the HEART Theatre.
Tickets are free however bookings are essential.
