2oceansFM Augusta's Community Radio Station has launched a new morning magazine style show hosted by Augusta local, Wendy Shearwood.
'Wednesdays with Wendy' airs fortnightly at 10am, delivering local news in a lively, interactive format of in-studio interviews, phone interviews, news bites and vox pops.
The show is sponsored by the Augusta Margaret River Shire and features regular interviews with Shire of Augusta Margaret River staff and councilors to address projects, initiatives, services and facilities that are of interest to the residents of Augusta and Margaret River.
Shire CEO Stephanie Addison-Brown is a regular guest on the show, and to date has discussed matters including the new three bin system, to the Main Street upgrade and management of the HEART. Last week she outlined the investments the Shire is making in Augusta projects up to Christmas and beyond.
"The show is fast-paced and locally-focused," explains host, Wendy Shearwood. "Our recent listener survey revealed that locals want to hear more from the Shire and more about local news, so that's exactly what we offer on 'Wednesdays with Wendy'."
Ms Addison-Brown said she hopes the new fortnightly Shire segments will help listeners stay up-to-date with local government activity in the region.
"We see it as a chance to promote services, facilities, events, participation opportunities, and advertise major public consultations to residents who might not hear about these things otherwise."
'Wednesdays with Wendy' airs on Wednesday 30th October at 10am and will be repeated at 4pm till 5pm the same day.
If you're not in the Augusta region you can still listen live via the stations web-site www.2oceansfm.com.au and if you miss it live you can listen on demand on the podcast page of the website.
