Famed chef and author Marco Pierre White will take in Margaret River as part of his visit to this month's WA Gourmet Escape festival, after having previously been expected to appear in Perth and the Swan Valley.
A festival spokesperson said Pierre White would be heading down south to enjoy the delights of the region before attending the Gourmet Village at Leeuwin Estate on Saturday November 16.
"During the day at the Village he will be popping in to visit the Singapore Airlines Escape Garden late morning (tickets still available), signing copies of his legendary book 'White Heat' for a 1-hour session from 12.20pm to 1.30pm.
"Marco will then be appearing on the Main Stage at the Chef's Amphitheatre with non other than his old mentor, Pierre Koffmann from 1.45pm to 2.15pm."
Pierre White, who attended the Margaret River-based festival in 2015 and described the experience as 'life changing,' will also be taking part in a one-off collaboration dinner at Sittella Winery in the Swan Valley, as well as making appearances at the family-friendly festival in the Swan Valley, Gourmet Feast in the Valley.
"Gourmet Escape without question is the greatest food event on earth," Pierre White said.
"It puts a spotlight on this region. Look at the soil, feel the sand, that's why everything grows so beautifully.
Chefs from every single corner of the world come here. It's life changing because you're being exposed to something that you've never been exposed to before. It's as simple as that."
