Indian Ocean Longboard Club held it's sixth and last contest of the year at Supertubes last Saturday, November 9.
Beautiful conditions and clean small waves greeted the contestants.
Sponsored by Funs Back Surf of Yallingup, Ray Holden won the handicap and Doug Curruthers the open score.
At the end of year presentations at Dunsborough Bowling Club that night, club president Paul Bourke spoke of a great year with lots of new members enjoying both the competitive and social aspects of the club.
In the Gill Warman Handicap division a greatly improved Zali Corry took out the trophy from Steve Raynor and Dave Burton.
Zali, from Mandurah not only won the State Junior title this year and represented Western Australia at the National Longboard titles in New South Wales, she took out the club's Open Woman's title from Amanda Curley.
The Open Score was won by the very stylish Doug Curruthers from Paul Bourke and Ryan Clarke.
Doug, from Margaret River commented it was probably his last title as the younger bucks were chomping at his ankles.
The Junior title went to Jacob McIver from Zali Corry.
Shae Sheridan and son Toby won the personality award while Andrew Bland won the Club Person of the Year trophy.
All up, another great year for the club, which was formed in 1993.
The club's flagship event, the Yallingup Malibu Classic, is already filled up and will be held over the weekend of Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1.
