Upgrades to the timber sports floors at the Margaret River Recreation Centre will commence early next month.
Works will focus on the upgrade and renewal of the existing timber sports floor on courts one, two and three.
Shire of Augusta Margaret River Recreation Operations Manager, Dylan Brown said the scope of works would include drum sanding the courts, replacing and fixing damaged boards, remarking court lines, and resealing the courts with a hardwearing floor sealer.
"This complete renewal has never been undertaken on the courts since they were built in the late 1980's - early 1990's and will greatly benefit the longevity of the courts when combined with the current annual maintenance schedule," Mr Brown said.
The works will take place between 6 December 2019 and 24 December 2019.
"Unfortunately that means the courts will be closed during this time with no public access, however the courts will be reopened on Monday 30 December after the Christmas closure with a brand new playing surface that will greatly benefit the community and increase the standard of play," said Mr Brown.
