The Drug Aware Margaret River Skate Art Music and Mental-Health (MRSAMM) youth event is back in 2019 offering a host of free, fun, family-friendly activities for the local community.
The annual youth event, which took a gap year in 2018 while the Margaret River Youth Precinct was refurbished, is set to be bigger and better than ever with highlights to include live music performances from Margaret River's Community Rock School, the Shire Youth Advisory Council's rock band, and upcoming Perth indie darlings Phoneline Valentine.
Local artist Karl Heussenstamm will be running art workshops with young people throughout the event, a silent disco will be silently pumping away in the newly renovated Margaret River Youth Hall and the King of the Ping Pong competition will see the best, and the worst, battle it out.
The evening will culminate with the Soggy Bone's Skate Jam taking place all over the park with a stack of prizes to be won for all ages and abilities.
Youth Community Development Trainee Kate Mann said the evening event will be jam packed, full of amazing talent, and will provide a great atmosphere for all the community to get involved.
"There will be plenty of free information about looking after your mental health and drug and alcohol awareness," she said.
"Mental and physical health is really important for everyone in the community, not just young people.
"This event will provide the opportunity to access resources and information and create positive awareness around drugs, alcohol and mental health.
"We would love to see all the community come down, support our young people and enjoy this free event" she said.
Healthy food options will be available for sale at the event including a Mexican flavoured feast from the local MRDELI team.
