A new baptismal font has been installed at the Church of St Mary in Cowaramup's Pioneer Park.
The font was crafted by Peter Clews OAM and Kevan Gray, both of the Cowaramup Men's Shed and was blessed on the morning of Sunday, November 3.
Rev. Mary Esslemont said the tiny church was packed with family and friends to witness the first baptism with the new font.
"We were delighted to have Peter Clews with us, so that he could witness the blessing and we could thank him in person," she said.
"[The baby] smiled throughout, even when water from the Font was poured three times on his head."
Donations from church members funded the creation of the font. Prior to the new installation, a heavy jarrah font used to be transported from St Margaret's Anglican in Margaret River as the occasion arose.
Rev Esslemont thanked the Men's Shed for its contribution.
"Once more, our appreciation for all you do for the Cowaramup Community and in particular for making our Font."
