Two cruise ships boasting more than 1,700 passengers and crew are expected to dock in Busselton next week, providing a $250,000 boost to the region's economy.
The Sun Princess is due to reach Busselton at 8am on Friday, January 10, with the Vasco da Gama set to arrive on Saturday, January 11, from 12pm.
City of Busselton mayor Grant Henley said the city was set to thrive and was well-prepared for its visitors, many of which will arrive just in time for the Festival of Busselton Float Parade.
"It's not often we have two ships visit on consecutive days, so the place is set to thrive, given it is our peak holiday period too," he said.
"Of those that plan to come ashore, up to 25 per cent will pre-book tours and head out to explore the region.
"The remainder will explore the town and foreshore, either on foot or aboard the hopper bus.
"The expected economic benefit into the region is in excess of $250,000 over the two days."
It is understood the 'Cruise In Markets', located at the ArtGeo Cultural Precinct, will run on both days, as well as musical acts at the foreshore.
The STS Leeuwin will also be docked at the Busselton Jetty, where it will run tours for a gold coin donation.
The city, in partnership with Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association, will work with the community and business groups to welcome cruise ship passengers.
Residents are reminded that Queen Street in the Cultural Precinct will be closed between Adelaide Street and Marine Terrace on both days.
The next ship is scheduled to arrive on Thursday, January 23.
