Blue-Belles Family Day Care is set for a new owner and educator to take the reins.

Based in Karridale, the nature-based family day care has offered a range of learning experiences for children after being established by departing owner Belinda Robinson eight years ago.

In 2017, Robinson was named a regional winner in the Australian Excellence in Family Day Care Awards for a third time, recognised as one of the nation's best operators of family day care.

After deciding to move with her family to the East Coast, Mrs Robinson said she was excited to have found a new owner to continue Blue-Belles' philosophies and values.

"It was a bitter sweet decision to move," said Mrs Robinson.

"While I am very excited about new beginnings for my family, I am sad about leaving my wonderful day care children and their families.

"Luckily I found the most amazing person to bring more magic, fun and experience to the place."

Carissa Calton is a Diploma-trained educator from Perth, who said she had always dreamed of living in the South West.

"I was in the process of opening a family day care in Perth, when this opportunity came up.

"My friend from Cowaramup actually tagged me in the Blue-Belles Facebook post - and I instantly contacted Belinda."

Describing her passion for early childhood education, Ms Calton said every child could benefit from a nature-based play environment, gaining confidence and social skills.

"Blue-Belles is in good hands," said Mrs Robinson.

"I am so excited to see the extraordinary qualities Carissa will bring and the brilliant changes she will make.

"Blue-Belles is such a special place - so unique to the area.

"Forests to explore, walking trails to follow, fauna and flora to discover with the beautiful sounds of nature all around."
