Margaret River's Parkrun community celebrated the second birthday of the fitness program on Saturday with a fun 1980s dress up theme.
An impressive 106 runners and walkers enjoyed fitness and fellowship on the riverside course before they were treated to a free coffee and muffin thanks to the event's sponsors, the Hairy Marron Cafe.
A Parkrun spokesperson said the Margaret River community had been benefited immensely from what organisers and volunteers hosted each week.
"The volunteers that take time to help out are amazing. Seeing kids out there running and fitness folk too is great but also those starting their fitness journey is amazing as well."
Locals form the mainstay of Parkrun, but many visitors from neighbouring towns as well as Perth, interstate and international visitors also attend.
"A guy who won the Perth marathon just broke the local Parkrun record at 16.15 min on the weekend, he flew like the wind and smashed it.
"Our thanks to Mark Murray of Stocker Preston for the free coffees this week and to the Hairy Marron who host the finish line every week and made free muffins on Saturday.
"Park run helps bringing the community together, it's a place you can meet old or new like-minded friends and chat over a well-deserved coffee."
