The 2020 season for the Indian Ocean Longboard Club is underway with new and old members gearing up to hit the surf at Yallingup Beach on Saturday.
Each club round runs on a handicap system so every surfer who turns up has a chance of winning giving 15 year old junior surfers the chance to beat an Aussie champ or take on a 70's legend.
Saturday, February 8 is the club's first round.
Anyone interested can send turn up at Yallingup Beach at 7am with your wetsuit.
Boards must me nine-foot long or more, but if you don't have a malibu don't worry, come down anyway and there will be someone who will share their ride with you.
Saturday evening at 5pm is the annual general meeting.
The committee is looking for new volunteers to help run the club, any extra help and support would be greatly accepted.
We are looking for new energy and ideas, as well as help to run the 36th Yal Mal in December.
Presentations will be held after the AGM, all to be held at Richard's place.
Bring a meat/fish/vegan (pretend meat) etc or something to throw on the barbecue. Salads, rolls, condiments are provided. Bring your bevvies as well.
