Sunday tennis sessions get more players on courts

Tennis Australia has launched Open Court Sessions, a new social tennis experience designed to get more adults on court.

The sessions are going strong at the Margaret River Tennis Club, held every Sunday throughout February and into March.

With something for everyone and all tennis skill levels, the Margaret River courts have been packed since the sessions began.

New beginner adults or 'lapsed' players can join in the Get Your Racquet On sessions to learn new skills, meet new people and play at their skill level.

Club coach Pablo Gomez keeps the kids entertained with activities while the adults enjoy their tennis games.

"Experienced players can do their own thing, or join in sets with others.

"There is no need to join the club, sign up for lessons, or commit to a weekly competition, although all of the above are offered by the club.

"It's all about being social, both on and off the court, and we all know how important that is for both physical and mental health."

Margaret River Tennis Club's Sunday Sessions are held from 4:30pm every Sunday. For more details and latest news visit
