The top mountain biking riders from around the Nation travelled to Bright, Victoria for the 2020 Mountain Bike Australian National Championships from March 11 to 15.
Gus Kyme from Margaret River was one of the riders competing at the event, in the Downhill Under 17s Men's division.
The division showed the popularity and strength of the sport's future, boasting the largest number of riders for the event.
The town of Bright is a cycling mecca and Mystic Mountain is highly regarded as a rough, steep and technical downhill track with loads of rock and roots to challenge riders.
The weather was perfect for fast, loose riding.
Margaret River's Kyme rode cleanly for the couple of days practice prior to the final on Saturday March 14.
The talented young athlete enjoyed a great run in the final, finishing in second place, just two seconds behind the winning rider from Victoria.
