When St Thomas More Catholic Primary School (STMCPS) heard that ANZAC Day celebrations were cancelled this year due to the coronavirus, they decided they wanted to do something that would show their level of appreciation to our armed forces.
"We wanted to thank all the people who work in our armed forces for the work they do to keep our country safe," said Anthony, a Year Five student at STMCPS.
The school packed fifteen care-packages to send to troops, as part of an initiative run by the Department of Defence.
Some of the items in the care-packages are typically Australian items that those deployed to serve our country may be missing from home, such as Tim Tams, Minties and Vegemite.
Also inside each care-package is a letter from the students at St Thomas More Catholic Primary School to tell them how much they appreciate what the servicemen and women do for the country, and "to let them know that we're thinking of them".
The care packages will leave Australia in the next week.
