While COVID-19 has put the brakes on many events, the Labelmakers Geographe and WA Alternative Varieties Wine Show will proceed in 2020.
The wine show plays an important role by offering exhibitors benchmarking and promotional opportunities that extend throughout the year.
Judging will occur between September 16 and 19, 2020 with a team of super human Western Australian judges led by award winning winemaker Julian Langworthy. It will be Mr Langworthy's third and final year as chief judge.
Joining the senior judging team is independent wine writer Erin Larkin who is a contributor for The Wine Companion, Gourmet Traveller Wine and was previously a columnist for The Post, The Western Suburbs Weekly and Talking Wine on 6PR radio.
The final member of the senior judging team will be winemaker Brendan Carr who worked at Xanadu in 2010 as a vintage cellar hand.
Lifestyle and wine lured Mr Carr back to the South West, where he joined the Xanadu wine making team full time before the 2012 vintage.
Mr Carr is also a regular Australian wine show judge in a number of capital cities and regional shows across the country, which led him to be invited to the prestigious Len Evans Tutorial in 2018.
Associate judges will be Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development research officer Richard Fennessy and Marcia Alegria from Willow Bridge Estate.
Entries to this year's show are now open with classes for Geographe Wines and WA Alternative Varieties, significant additions to the WA alternative varieties are Chenin Blanc and Grenache.
Another significant change to this year's show will be the presentation function, 2020 will see a transition from the formal dinner to an informal canapes and tasting event approximately one month from the judging.
A date is yet to be announced.
