Margaret River's Jack Robinson has been crowned the Male Surfer of the Year at the 2020 Australian Surfing Awards.
Announced on Sunday night, the award caps off a huge year for the 22 year old, who claimed the 2019 Volcom Pipe Pro and was runner up in the 2019 Sunset Open before a massive victory at the Vans World Cup of Surfing in December.
That win gave him the last spot on the World Surf League (WSL) Men's 2020 Championship Tour (CT) by way of the Qualifying Series (QS), which has now been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Stephanie Gilmore was named Female Surfer of the Year, while Western Australia's Jodie Cooper was inducted in the Surfing Hall of Fame at the 36th iteration of the awards.
Margaret River-based photographer Ren McGann took out the Nikon Surf Photo of the Year Award for his capture at The Right surf break near Walpole.
Australian filmmaker Andrew Kaineder received the Nikon Surf Video of the Year for his film, 'Flow State'.
