Margaret River's iconic Rotary Directory - the community's trusted local trade and business resource for over 25 years- is about to enter the digital age with a major online boost for advertisers and their customers.
As Rotary gets ready to launch its campaign for 2021 advertisers, the directory service will focus on boosting the online profiles and sales of businesses which have traditionally relied solely on the printed booklet.
This innovation means 2021 advertisers will benefit from a free website listing on Rotary Marketplace, a 'Google My Business' listing and their usual exposure in the hard-copy directory. The Marketplace online platform will enable local businesses to sell their services and products online and extend their reach to potential customers beyond the local vicinity.
The 'Google My Business' profile will attract new customers via Google search engines when customers are searching for local businesses - a marketing feature many businesses are currently without.
The Rotary Directory is a major funding source for Rotary's community-based regional projects - most recently the new Men's Shed building project.
Rotary President Brian Middleton says COVID-19 impacts have made this work more important than ever.
"The pandemic has had an impact on our lives in a way we scarcely could have imagined six months ago", Mr Middleton said. "It has been disheartening to witness the impact in our community over the past few months, but with collaboration and support we can get through this and help each other thrive."
Rotary Margaret River - along with many charities, service organisations and not-for-profits - has been delivering essential support for people within the region.
"We would like to thank all our major sponsors and contributors to the Rotary Directory, past and present for their commitment and support to ensuring that the Rotary Club continues to raise funds for important projects and worthy causes" Mr Middleton said.
The Rotary Club of Margaret River would like to remind and encourage everyone to "Shop Local Online" through their new community marketplace, www.augustamargaretriver.com.au
